Our Research Mission:
The Schilling laboratory studies the role of diverse resident and recruited macrophage subsets in the pathogenesis of metabolic liver diseases, such as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and in liver dysfunction associated with heart failure. The combination of mouse models and human tissue samples in conjunction with single cell transcriptomics, flow cytometry, tissue imaging, and ex vivo models are utilized to address important questions in the pathogenesis and treatment of these liver diseases.
